Here are some answers to many of the questions that might be on your mind.

I am wanting to set up my bookwork on a computerised accounting
system but I don't have the time nor inclination to set it up myself.
However, once it is set up and up to date, I or another staff member
are wanting to do the entering on a weekly basis. Is this possible?


Of course, we can be as involved as you choose us to be. We can do all the setting up of the
program and get your figures up to date. We can then hand over directly to you.
We can even purchase the program and install the software for you or train staff as necessary.
You decide what it is you need our services for.

I do not have a computer but am wanting my accounts set up on a
computerised accounting package, can you still help me.


Yes we can. We can set up a file for you on our system. We can provide you with weekly or
monthly reports (as you wish) and will provide you with a CD of your accounting
figures so that you can simply pass to your accountant at the end of the financial year.

My business is really quite small and I may only require your
services once every few months, can you still help me?


Whether you require our services once a year, on a weekly basis or as a once off assignment,
we can help you.

I am unsure if you can help me. I simply want some invoices typed
each week and for you to follow up for payment. Is this part of
your service?


Our service not only covers all aspects of bookkeeping but administration as well. Often small
to medium business owners are not comfortable collecting funds owed to them as they
have been heavily involved in getting the initial sale. We can look after this side of the business
for you.

My business is based in Sydney and I note that you are on the
Central Coast. Can you still assist me?


Due to the technology of today's world, distance is not a problem. We can be connnected
through phone,fax and email and any documents that need to be physically exchanged
can be done so through our reliable courier service.

I only want your service to look after my staff's payroll and related
liabilities. Can you do this?


Many businesses today prefer to keep their payroll off site for confidentiality reasons. We can look
after your staff's payroll for you on a weekly/fortnightly/monthly basis (as per your company's pay structure)
and provide comprehensive reports outlining your PAYG tax and Superannuation liabilities.
Alternatively, we can also handle these for you as well.

What are the costs involved in your service?

Charges are determined on a case by case structure but will be outlined to you in full prior to any
work being carried out. You will know the exact amount to be paid for the assignment, this will
never be a floating figure. But as The Business Nanny has minimal overheads, you will be
surprised at what a cost effective solution we are.

Do I have to pay your tax, superannuation etc like that of an employee?

The Business Nanny trades out of a private company "Hines Consolidated Pty Limited with an Australian
Business Number. We are not your "employee" and you will not be liable for our taxes,
superannuation or any other liabilites. We provide you with a Tax Invoice which in turn can be
claimed as a business expense.

I literally have a box full of paperwork with no idea what to do, can you help?

Yes we can. You will need to provide us with some necessary documentation such as cheque books,
bank statements, outstandings etc so that we can reconcile your documentation
but with minimal input from you, we can easily help you.

Will I still have to have an accountant complete my final tax return?

Yes, an accountant will still be required to complete your final tax return.
However, your accountancy fees will always reflect the material handed over to them.
As all the the prior reconciliations, entering etc would have already been completed and we hand over
in clear and concise report format, obviously your accountancy charges would be
less than if you hand over a box full of paperwork and let your acccountant decipher.
Should you require your accountant to manually sort through your business paperwork, not only will you
find that it will take some time (billable hours), accountancy fees far exceed that of a bookkkeeper.
Also, as discussed in our previous pages, if you are waiting for your accountant to process your
figures on an annual basis, how can you be making the right business decisions during the year
when you are literally "flying blind" accounting wise. We like to see our role as working hand in hand with
accountants to provide them with all the material they need in order to prepare your return.

I find that when my accountant processes my final figures, I am always in a
far worse position than I previously thought. Why is this and will your
service provide a solution?


Our service can provide a solution. The reason your weekly Trading results and that of your final years
return differ is that most businesses do not take into account many of the formal accounting practises,
eg depreciation, interest, prepaid advertising etc etc. We can identify what is required for
the financial year and take account for this in your weekly figures. This can give you a more accurate reflection
of your businesses true financial position. We can even expense any major annual expenses over the entire
year rather than in one single month so that your weekly trading results indicate a more accurate financial
picture for you to analyse and assist in any future business decisions.

Are you eligible for the 14 day extension on Business Activity Statements?

As a recognised BAS Service Provider with the ATO and by lodging BAS directly with the ATO,
the 14 day extension is available to us. In saying that, there are certain exceptions to
this but we will go over with you in our first contact to ascertain whether the extension will apply to you.
